nearly posted a stunning victory on the road
against Guatemala's storied club Municipal,
seeing the win disappear in the final minutes
for a 2-2 CONCACAF Champions League draw as many
players rested in preparation for the USL-1
playoffs.
The Islanders, who were playing their first
Champion League game on the road, opened the
scoring in the 10th minute when Fabrice Noel
dribbled past three Municipal defenders and
buried his shot past a diving Paulo Cesar Motta.

forward Charles Gbeke. The Impact also receives
a financial compensation.
Donatelli, 24, was playing with the Whitecaps
since the 2006 season. At the end of last season
he received the Whitecaps Unsung Hero Award
after scoring five goals in 29 games. In 2006,

winning 1:0 over the Impact de Montréal. Toronto
FC opened the new three-team tournament with a
road win at Stade Saputo in Montréal in front of

The Nutrilite Canadian Championship runs 27 May
to 22 July. On 17 June, the Vancouver Whitecaps
